Judge William Elder, a longtime Lincoln County figure and former district court clerk and county judge, died at 8 16 yesterday morning at his West Levent Street home. Born 1845 in Indiana County Pennsylvania, he served in the 89th Illinois Infantry and moved to Nebraska in 1880, becoming a trusted civic leader and Grand Army of the Republic member. He is survived by his wife five children six stepdaughters and one stepson. Funeral held at the Presbyterian church this afternoon.
