Shop Men Return to Work After Union Pacific Quits
About twenty shop men and car repairers who quit the Union Pacific in October 1911 filed return-to-work applications. Omaha officials and Chamber of Commerce President Seeberger negotiated, and the men are to be employed as needed. Three men began work and two or three boilermakers are expected to resume soon. Local officials pledge support to North Platte, with loans available through Mutual Building & Loan.

E. B. Gibbs Dies in St. Louis at Age 80
E. B. Gibbs a longtime North Platte resident died yesterday at eight in the morning at his daughter Mrs. Wm Harris home in St. Louis. He suffered from dropsical affection and other age related troubles after a fifty year railway career, including positions with Union Pacific and the Short Line before retiring. His death is mourned by friends in North Platte.

Henry Bebout reported Captain J. S. Robbins, a Wallace precinct pioneer and former county commissioner, has been stricken with paralysis. He is seventy six and in a critical condition with one side paralyzed and helpless, making recovery unlikely. His community wide acquaintance faces concern.
