The Sammy Girls raised 226.60 from the Doolittle Osgood sale at the Doolittle ranch. Donated items included a calf and a turkey. proceeds from a turkey, shoes, a calf, and chickens totaled 236.50 with remaining assets earmarked for future revenue.
Former North Platte man Alexander Adamson of Douglas Arizona reports Arizona copper industry booming in 1917 18 with copper dividends totaling over 120 million dollars in 1917 and rising. He sold stock at four bits a share and earned substantial gains while noting ongoing annual dividends of two dollars per share.
Nine Lincoln county men headed for Camp Funston were presented with sweaters knit by members of the Sammy Girls club. W.W. Hoagland spoke on war aims and praised the girls before the soldiers. The event included brief speeches, supper, and informal farewells at the Elks' home station.

At a Lutheran church gathering of about 150, the council was authorized to accept a bid and contract for a new church building. Plans are in the hands of contractors and bids will be opened March 23. Frank Herrod from Ogallala visited relatives and attended the Kony Initiation. Kelcher from Omaha attended the initiation and planned a few days of business.

John H. Jenkins now in Kearney writes for credentials to join the coast artillery. Leo Babbitt of this city likely departs today for JeMeron barracks to enlist. W Flinn of McPherson intends to go with papers from Tryon. Otto Herman and brother, recently from Cleveland, will enlist at Jefferson barracks. Charles Triplett applies to enter service as an ambulance driver.
Fred W Cross, who recently sold the Nebraska House, has leased the Thomson house east of the Lloyd and will operate it as a rooming house. His past business experience is stated as ensuring a well conducted establishment.
