Davis Co leases Harrington room for Nash sales

The J. S. Davis Auto Co. leases the Harrington store room on east Sixth Street from C. M. Trotter to serve as a show and salesroom for Nash and Stearns cars and Nash trucks. J. J. Crawford named sales manager with W. J. Tiley, Lloyd Powers as car salesmen and a truck salesman. An office force and test rooms for men and women will be added. The Fourth and Locust garage remains for general use as business grows.

Senate Forecasts Defeat of the Peace Treaty

Employers and Employes Formulate Relations Policy

The Cleveland chamber of commerce labor relations committee issued a declaration of principles, the first community plan by industry and labor leaders. It urges employers to inform workers with financial information, opposes forced unionism, but allows for possible multi agreement. It stresses cost of living in wages, discourages overtime, promotes Saturday half holiday, health protections, and enforcement of anti coercion laws.

Local Elderly Woman Falls Down Stairs Injuring Skull

Mrs. Mary Johnson, 83, mother of Mrs. R. A. Garman and Mrs. Munsinger, fell at 9:30 yesterday at the Munsinger home, striking the cement basement door. She has skull fractures and remains unconscious. doctors hold little hope for recovery.

Ordinance committee hits snag on water bond plan

City council ordinances chair Lesie Baskings discovered a legal limit of 150000 on water bonds for the city, with 30000 already outstanding, leaving only 70000 available. The proposed mains extension cannot proceed this year, and a future bond program will be set at the next council meeting to plan annual issuances.
