From Dayton July 25 Captain Roy N Francia leaves McCook field in a Martin bombing plane bound for New York then Seattle with Lieuts Welch Cerrut and Sg t Madan aboard. The crew plans a single stop at North Platte Neb while Lieut Conklin and ground team continue preparing landing grounds since early June.

Omaha architect W F Gernandt conferred with county commissioners about a new Lincoln County court house. He cited Lexington and Clay Center designs, with the Clay Center project costing 275000 dollars complete. Commissioners said five mill levy for five years would not cover the cost, and Gernandt to keep the building and furnishings within about 200000 dollars. He will draft a plan within Lincoln County’s raised funds.

Trotter Leases Harrington Building for Auto Showroom
M Trotter returned from Cheyenne and Denver with a five year lease on the Harrington building now used by Herrod the grocer. He will convert it into an auto showroom while keeping two rooms. After moving Herrod stock, he will install a new front and floors and other improvements to create a leading showroom in the state’s west.

New Hotel Palace Opens To Hundreds In North Platte
The New Hotel Palace and Cafe, built by Richi Ugal, opened with a large reception Saturday. Guests toured the three floors, were greeted by a reception committee, and enjoyed music by the Stamp orchestra. The 76 room hotel cost 75000 with a 6000 refrigerating plant and modern amenities including telephones baths and passenger elevator.
