The Nebraska Central Building and Loan Association of Lincoln emphasizes ample funds for all loans and invites inquiries. C F Temple is district agent, with office phone Red 500, and the July 1 1918 financial statement is available elsewhere in the paper.
H B Wotan of Maywood is visiting for business. The William Kern estate had a final county court hearing. Nellie Conneally went to Wallace to visit family. Frank Winkleman left for Fremont after a visit with his son. J H Howe, Dr Collitt and Gid Farabee of Wallace are in town on business. Ralph Simon of Hastings returned home after a visit. A social dance at Bignell drew many townspeople. Mrs Nels Hammer left for Sidney to visit daughter Mrs Edward Adhern. Gertrude Rebhausen heads to Kearney for a two week vacation with aunt Mrs Lawrence Wernett.

City of North Platte voters are asked to approve issuing 20000 in bonds to buy a site and erect a city hall and house fire police records. Voting places listed ward by ward. Ballots propose bonds and annual tax to pay interest and principal. Election held August 19 1913 with open hours 9am to 7pm.
In Willow Island the locals lose to North Platte 5 to 3 after a late rally. Rasmussen strikes out six for Willow Island while Maupin fans seven for North Platte. McClure homers on a misplayed ball and about four hundred attend. next Sunday's rematch is planned at Willow Island with Maupin pitching and booster buttons selling fast.
The Hershey Times reports crop conditions improving after a week ending July 12. Corn is developing well with expected yields, second alfalfa crop fared better for those mowing early, and alfalfa prospects are strong. Beets show excellent yields despite slower growth, small grain in the valley were ruined if unharvested, and wild hay is abundant.
The 34 acre Hunter orchard near Sutherland in Lincoln County is highlighted as a premier Nebras ka fruit producer. Secretary Marshall of the state horticultural society cites four year yields totaling 94 400 bushels with gross income of about 25 000 dollars for 1900 1911 1912 and 1918 estimates.
The North Platte Tennis Club began its tournament with O. R. Robinson defeating Edward Schatz 6-2 6-3. Louis Tobin lost to Arthur Bullard 2-6 5-7, and Robert Armstrong beat Albert Schatz 7-5 6-1. Joe Schatz upset Francia Flynn 7-9 4-6 2-.... Chas. Pass defeated M. J. OConnell 6-0 6-?. Birge beat Chapman 6-4 6-2. The Dixon loving cup awaits the winner, with prizes from J. B. McDonald A. A. Schatz Co. and C. O. Weingand.
The Womans Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church will hold an exchange at the Schutz store this Saturday.
Mrs. James Kennedy visited friends in Willow Island on Sunday. Several locals traveled for visits, weddings, and sports, with the North Platte Tennis club heading to Lexington for a two day tournament. Fire and insurance ads appear alongside community gatherings and visits from relatives and out of town guests.
