Referee Hoagland granted R. R. Hine his final discharge as a bankrupt after a long case vigorously contested by C. I. Iddings' counsel. An appeal to Judge Munger is likely.
Governor Poynter dispatches a message to Sheriff Keliber and local officers urging active enforcement of the state game law. The governor emphasizes that sheriffs, constables, and justices of the peace must bring action against violators and that strict enforcement is expected.
Lincoln county hay shipments have fallen sharply as lowland hay is nearly exhausted and upland cutting is delayed. About twenty percent of the crop has been shipped, mostly second class quality. The Denver hay market remains weak due to heavy inflows from Kansas and Colorado.
The Lincoln county Teachers Institute will run August 6 for six days with instructors including Prof. C. A. Fulmer Pawnee City and Miss Lewis Omaha. Dr Z Snyder and Fulmer to lecture with emphasis on primary work and arithmetic. County Supt Thoelecke urges eighth grade and high school pupils who plan to teach to attend. A fifty cent rate applies for attendees not taking exams.
The board approved general fund bills on July 19 20 and 21 1900 including payments to T Trump 18 70 F H Longley 23 sundry jurors 275 D W Baker 3 60 N McCabe 14 30 State Journal 681 75 P H Sullivan 27 10 C P Roas 134 and others 84 10 H D Rhea 25 W S Ross 12 and notified Mrs Pulver to appear. Other entries include Emma Pulver 1067 04 jury fees 587 70 and various payees and insanity board members 35 25 Dr Longley 53 Hammond Stevens 51 50 Lock Salisbury 10 50 Tim Kelcher 99 75 E B Warner 76 85 James Ray 3 35 Nils Lafdahl 8. The board adjourned to meet Monday July 30.
