J N Lamb and Joseph Scott who bought land on the west side of Locust street between Seventh and Eighth announce bids for a one story garage 66 by 124 feet. Plans show a truss roof to remove interior posts enabling full floor use. Contract let soon with urgency. A tenant has been secured to occupy the building immediately after completion.
Henry Sonnermann a German born Lincoln County resident died Saturday night at his residence on Jack Morrow flats funeral set for this afternoon with interment in a nearby cemetery. He was born July 6 1874 in Glietzig and arrived in Lincoln County over 25 years ago. He married Minnie Euler July 6 1899 and leaves two sons Harlan Herbert and Howard Herman brother Carl Sonnermann and sister Mrs Cole of Denver. He had lived on the former Hardin place he purchased years ago.
The annual neighborhood gathering at Mrs. Ban Wilson’s home celebrated the return of nine boys most who served overseas. Lieut. Cobby spoke, awarding Croix de Guerre, and a drill and bayonet charge entertained attendees. Attendees thanked Mrs. M. N. Johnston Mrs. J. H. VanCleave and Mrs. Ben Wilson.

A festive burglar prowled and robbed nine homes in 48 hours causing frequent awakenings. Victims include the Simants, Rasmussen, McGrew, Banta, Woods, Eshelman, Smitt, Walter Eshelman porch sleepers, and Wright households with various sums of money taken. One burglar was chased by boys. several entries involved screen doors and forced openings. The period also notes the Union State Bank purchasing nearby groceries for a future location and an upcoming Lutheran aid meeting.

They use rounded coffers, frontless floors, and modern conveniences, claiming faster and cheaper construction than wood or brick rivals. Building contractors in North Platte report a critical shortage of carpenters as many residences are under construction or planned. Ray Cantini, head of the local Labor Union, routed telegrams to Omaha, Kansas City, Lincoln and Denver seeking help, but replies show no idle carpenters available nationwide, risking curb on new building.

Both men are returned soldiers.
Thousands of visitors praised the Fourth of July auto races with no delays or mishaps, thanks to Starter Crawford. The event drew praise from President Coates and Secretary Dirge for a large attendance and orderly crowd at the grounds. Also noted is a home intrusion scare linked to Mrs. James Roddy and a Chandler car sales pitch from J. V. Romigh with a local want ad for a housekeeper at Marti Meat Market.
