Nebraska Troops to Begin Mobilization Train from Lincoln

Boy Moves From Ice Pack Ward To Omaha For Tetanus Care
William Gaunt six year old son of Mr and Mrs Hugh Gaunt was taken to Omaha on Wednesday evening for treatment of tetanus from wounds on his left foot after stepping on a rusty rake ten days earlier. Blood poisoning and critical condition followed before transfer. He was kept in ice in a cold storage vault at the Artificial Icy Plant for days before improving to some extent. His parents and Dr J H Redfield accompanied him as he recuperated. Mrs George E Brown settled with Apperson Automobile company over her husband’s Dodge hill death on April 14. An examination showed a broken brake mechanism and the company, while denying responsibility, refunded the car’s purchase price and sent it back to their Kohomo Indiana factory last week.

North Platte Girl Wins Honors in Chicago
Miss Edwina Kelcher of Chicago, daughter of Tim T. Kelcher formerly of North Platte, won a 450 dollar annual scholarship at Mount Saint Joseph College in Dubuque after placing highly in a Chicago parochial schools exam. She also earned the Holy Cross gold medal and starred as Snow White in the school operetta. Her achievements are noted alongside local notices of games, auctions, and community happenings in the area.
