If approved, he would start around April 1 as farmers in the region seek guidance on tree varieties and cultivation methods. The farm plans dairy cow experiments, recently purchasing eleven Holsteins, mostly young heifers, including two cows from a lineage famed for high butter fat, with one cow notable for producing 23 pounds of butter fat in a week.
