Harry Keller a thirteen year old resident of the North Side was sentenced by County Judge Grant to the reformatory at Kearney for bicycle theft from Emil Wheel. Keller testified plainly about the theft and was kept in the county jail over Sunday. His parents failed to secure his release as they admitted they could not govern him. They stated he is not naturally bad but has been surrounded by bad company. Officials plan to monitor city youths and curb petty theft by younger boys to prevent further incidents.
City officials are urged to review water plant ownership costs and consider reducing rates. Taxpayers point to about 7000 dollars yearly in interest hydrant rentals and sewer flushing fees they did not pay when the plant was privately owned and call for mandatory metering to ensure water is priced at actual cost. They also seek a reserve fund for emergencies before per unit charges are set.

Many locals and relatives are mentioned with visits, travel, and social events. A laborer suffers a knee wound from a pick while others travel for work and meetings. Weather outlook shows mostly cloudy, mild. Community groups discuss strikes, loans, concerts, and local affairs.
Martha Anderson aged 63 died yesterday afternoon at her daughter Mrs Walter Wilson home six miles west of the city of heart failure and dropsy. She had lived in the county over thirty years and leaves a son Archie Anderson in Kansas and a daughter Mrs Walter Wilson. Funeral will be held at the Wilson home and interment in North Platte cemetery tomorrow afternoon.

William C Meek was acquitted last evening in county court on a charge of stealing two tons of coal from Union Pacific. A five member jury found him not guilty on the first ballot citing circumstantial evidence and an alibi. The case named Union Pacific Detective Gorman as the chief witness and involved a sale of coal to a Mr Smith on East Second Street. Meek represented himself and faced witnesses for both sides while Bratt and Goodman advertised a loan offer nearby. Also noted were arrests of Meek and Cole for fighting and a Presbyterian church concert featuring the Southland quartet. Washington communications reported Judge Witten resigning after twenty years in charge of the land drawing, to practice law in D C.

G Johnson of Hershey fills Birdwood vacancy. Miss Hazel Mason visited home folks. Sunday school next Sunday at 2 PM with preaching at 8 PM East. Mrs. Lee Stevers returned home to Proctor Colorado after visiting her parents. Platte valley social club program drew a large crowd Friday evening and was said to be a good time.
