Gothenburg County Scenes From A Midweek

Rev Romine and Rev Burris visited on business. Coal and cold weather arrived. George Stiff from Vroman rebuilt a flue and began plastering. Tom Marcott suffers throat trouble again. Epworth League reading circle met with light attendance. First teachers meeting of the year set for Saturday. Elevator received first grain Wednesday and began operation. Track scale timber arrived and setup soon. Mr Posts worked on the elevator then left for Shelton. Robert McMurray visited on business. Arthur Chambers moved into his new home Saturday. A minor altercation occurred at the elevator Monday. Windy weather marked the midweek. Library event slated for Friday at Union School. Camera enthusiasts renewed activity in good weather.

Between the Rivers Farmers Sow Wheat as Weather Holds

Farmers in the valley anticipate sowing wheat if weather remains favorable. Supt. Seeberger is leasing farms under the old canal for next year as community activity continues.

Edgar Bailey from Marengo Nebraska visits. Gardner and Segaser sell potatoes in North Platte. George Burkett from Hayes Centre brings lumber. Emery Baker and Somerset visitors. Julia Turner ill but improving. E Forsythe from Wallace hauls corn from Dickens with other Wallace farmers. Corn valued at twenty five cents. W T S Conner and Latimer Jolliffe visit county seat. Elmer McDonald of Echo post office in region.
