Busy Ice Harvest Peak at Gothenburg on Lake Helen
Yesterday saw 84 cars filled by 86 men in under ten hours marking the busiest ice harvest day in Lake Helen history. Each car carried 30 tons and total season output reaches 646 cars, with most shipments going to the U P icehouses at North Platte Gothenburg Independent.

Two Men Fined for Disorderly Conduct at Chinatown Eatery

Meek Arrested in Crater County on Fraud Charge
North Platte man W. C. Meek was arrested in Crater county and sent to Grand Island then held in jail for a preliminary hearing on obtaining money under false pretenses. He allegedly solicited insurance, took premiums, and failed to remit funds, and had given checks without funds.

Freight brakeman nearly crushed in yard mishap at Sidney
Joe Frederici of this city narrowly escaped death when an engine backed into him in the Sidney yards. He was knocked down and rolled under the tank but was saved by a quick stop as the ash-pan would have crushed him. He escaped with bruises and heavy fright.

Steer Rescued From Hay Stack After Eight Days Without Water
John Nau Jr of near Leshara recovered a steer missing since the January 2 storm. The animal hid in a double hay stack, burrowed inside during the storm, and reemerged after a child spotted its nose.
