Two Officers Shot and Killed by Mexicans in Grocery Store

Chief Mecomber and Patrolman Rodgers were killed after two Mexicans, suspected by Nick Chiros of the Greek store on Front Street, shot them during a search in his shop. One assailant was wounded by Chiros and captured. a manhunt followed with deputies and townsfolk scouring the area.

Lincoln County Reward For Mexican Suspect In Murders

The County of Lincoln offers a reward of 150 dollars for the arrest of the Mexican implicated in the murder of Officers Mecomber and Rodgers. Division SS Ent PTA new members at a smoken

Yesterday the Division SS of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers admitted thirty-two new firemen at the Labor Temple. The ceremony included an evening meal at the Episcopal church basement with music, speeches, and a solo by Mr Arnold.

Wartele's Return Delayed to February for Heart Study

Dr Pred J Wartele informs The Tribune that after leaving North Platte he expected to return in three weeks. He now says discharge will wait until about February as he remains in New York for a special heart study delaying the rest of this month. A man advised him to stay in New York to pursue the heart research amid prohibition.

Lincoln County History Aims From Clarke Visit

Wil St. Clarke arrived in town to compile Lincoln county history to be issued by a Chicago firm. Meanwhile the Lutheran Church offers morning worship at 11 with sins of the tongue and evening service at 6 with Godliness, plus Sunday school at 9 45 for all. Pastor C F Koch invites all to attend.

Premus Forstedt Passes Away

Premus Forstedt died at Beatty Thuift Wednesday evening after a long illness due to tuberculosis. He had moved from North Platte to Scott Bluff for health reasons about six months ago leaving his children with relatives. The body was returned to North Platte last night and the funeral will be held at the Lutheran church at 2:30 this afternoon.

President Gray to Visit North Plate on Inspection Run

President Gray of the Union Pacific and officials will arrive in North Plate Monday morning en route west. The party will spend most of the day inspecting company property at the terminal. Dr. H A Fenner traveled to Fremont to diagnose cases for Dr Richardson.
