Clothier C O Weingand slashes prices by one third on suits and overcoats for ten days, offering $15 garments at $10 and applied discounts on shoes underwear and other apparel. He reports strong trade and no recent price markups, promising fresh stock and quality goods from top manufacturers.
Local items note Lincoln memorial highway booster meetings planned in Sidney Lodge Pole and nearby towns on Lincoln's birthday February 12. Streets along the route may be renamed The Lincoln Highway to honor the event.
State Superintendent Delzell appoints faculty for the 1914 Junior Normal at North Platte naming Wilson Tout principal and instructors Frank L. Smith Brady A. R. Nichola J. A. True P. M. Whitehead and KK Monroe with locations listed as North Platte Gibbon Cozad Gothenburg and Shelton.
The Catholic Girls club met at Miss Mary Tighe's home for a social hour and 600. Mary Elias won first prize, Mrs. James Hart took second. Officers elected: President Mrs. James Hart, vice-president Miss Josie O Hare, secretary Miss Hannah Kelcher, treasurer Miss Florence Stack. Entertainment committee included Misses Mary Tighe Loretta Murphy Rona O Hare and Irene Hubbard. Refreshments served.
The annual shareholders meeting re-elected J. J. Halligan H. Keith Neville Ray C. Langford F. L. Mooney and E. F. Seeberger as directors. The board organized by reappointing officers and adopted a resolution to join the Federal Reserve System. Mooney was asked to sign blanks to qualify once the regional bank location is set for North Platte.
