Progress on the north Dewey street welcome home arch continues with 871 Lincoln county servicemen named on the pillars. Blue stars will honor those who returned and gold stars mark the dead or killed in action. The unveiling date will be announced at least a week in advance with band music, an address, and male chorus selections.

Railroad Earnings Decline Under Government Operation
Washington reports that railroad earnings under government control in 1918 will fall about 196 million dollars below the standard return the government must pay. Director General McAdoo told Senator Smith the revised estimate adds 40 million to the prior figure, based on November net revenue. He cites 28 million dollars less than expected, with 6 million from reduced traffic and 22 million from wage and backlog payments.
