The Altar Society announces a gathering at Rev. Me’s residence. Hamilton and Wellfleet license to wed granted to H. L. Dimond Bertha M. Gerkin and L. Morrison. City council met to approve claims. weather and local events fill the page.
The Elk Horn Lodge staged its annual ball at the opera house on Tuesday evening. A modest crowd enjoyed a well run event with dancers on the floor and spectators in the gallery. Electric lights and stage initials created simple effective decorations. Music by the theatre orchestra preceded the dancing which lasted from about nine to three with an intermission at midnight. Chairman Buchfinck and the committee earned praise for organizing a pleasant entertainment. Mens hats advertised at reduced prices by The Hub Clothing Dept.

Ice harvest on the Union Pacific lake runs swiftly under foreman John Frasier with sixty workers at the lake and about one hundred fifty at ice houses. Trains run irregularly as a masked robbery near Reese leaves a porter dead and passengers robbed. two men perish in a Sunday storm near Curtis and Cozad while others aid injured crews.
James Jones, a well known resident, was found dead in a bed inside a building on the island at the North River bridge Wednesday evening. Coroner Longley and Sheriff Miltenberger concluded heart trouble caused the death after examining the body. Jones, a long-time North Platte resident and arm amputee, had been living with Mr. Lodacott. the body was moved to Ginn White Schatz receiving rooms.
Jacob Kinser transfers parts of the north half and other parcels in section 22 and 8 for 7840 to W C Fairchild. Union Realty and Trust Co sells to P E Burnett the northwest quarter of section 14 for 3000. J R White sells to Griffon Fisher parts of sections 27 and 26 for 17000. Griffon Fisher then purchases back portions of section 12 in 13 31 for 17000.
Bids for cash rent on the ranch now occupied by W. C. Patterson are requested by noon March 10 1911. Four men Ashmead Little Jackson and Spivens were charged with gambling at the Elk rooming house but evidence was insufficient for conviction.
