Rotary club to host Christmas party and lectures

The Rotary club plans an evening gathering with the ladies followed by a 6:30 dinner and a Christmas party. County Agent Kellogg visits eastern Nebraska this week and will attend the Lincoln organized agriculture meeting before returning to North Platte around January 6. Farm Bureau to present lantern slides on road improvement and swine production January 9 to 13. schools to be notified. One high official from Upton Pacific discussed Locust street crossing congestion and promised steps to ease traffic. Lincoln County Farm Bureau dues set at 37.50 new members and 6 renewals. State Federation takes 5 of that and 1 goes to recruiting. Manley Russmussen of Brady named Union Pacific scholarship winner for top club work.

Lincoln county prize scholarship and rural youth programs

The 1921 season includes a $76 University of Nebraska College of Agriculture scholarship awarded to a Lincoln County boy, with County Agent Kellogg praising youth club results. A Platte Valley Poultry Association meeting elected officers and scheduled the 1922 show dates.

Royal Neighbor Lodge Plans Public Meeting and Banquet

The Royal Neighbor Lodge will hold a 2 PM meeting at the I O O F hall with two supreme officers from Lincoln and Omaha. A school of instruction, program, and 6 PM banquet at the Episcopal Guild parlors precede an evening of adoption initiation and a public fancy drill.

Kenneth Whelan left for Denver to visit friends. Jim Norris of Chicago spends holidays with father G. F. Norris. Evangeline Herrod returned Tuesday from Denver to join family. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Barl Wilson at home Friday. Mother and baby are doing nicely.

A December 18 notice lists North Platte students enrolled in colleges and universities beyond local schools. Christmas Baskets Help City Needy By Local Club

The Twentieth Century club led a drive distributing eighty six Christmas baskets to the poor. A ladies committee gathered and packed food items while Chamber of Commerce volunteers, under Secretary Hare, delivered them. Some non needy may have received baskets, but the effort brought cheer to hundreds. Mr and Mrs Arthur Mahan spent Christmas in Gothenburg with relatives. Judge Woodhurst wed Emil A Schultz and Jessie Marie Coykendall of Moorefield. they will live north of Moorefield in Lincoln county after March 1.
