Lincoln County Farm Bureau Holds Annual Meeting
The Lincoln County Farm Bureau met in the county court room with a fair turnout and harmony. Horace J. Young spoke for the extension service and a nominating committee presented a unanimous report. The constitution was amended to elect four directors for two years and five for one year. New board: S. J. Koch Hershey James Shoup Sutherland Nath Batteen Antelope Andrew Howard Medicine Dan Mathers North Rosedale TL T McNickle Walker Aaron Kane Wallace A R Leavitt Plant Fred McClymont Osgood. Secretary H D Lute of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation gave an address to farmers, praising progress and outlining a county agricultural program. No women attended.

City shoppers and holiday change affect schedules
Mr and Mrs 5 Thompson of Mer sey shopped in the city Wednesday. Mrs Ellsworth and Miss Kate Mc Connell of Hershey spent Wednesday in the city. Christmas vacation in city schools will start Tuesday December 22 and end Wednesday January. Change made due to railroad holiday rates taking effect December 2.

Well Known Couple Quiet Church Wedding
A quiet wedding occurred Tuesday at 8:30 PM at the Lutheran church uniting Miss Edith Wendeborn and J Edward Slader with Rev. Franklin Koch officiating. The bride wore a blue traveling suit and picture hat. Mrs A Picard, groom’s sister, was her attendant. They left on a midnight eastern wedding trip and will live in the city. Mrs Sluder is from the Wendeborn family, active in church work. Mr Sluder, oldest son of Mr and Mrs N A Sluder, is a partner in a painting business with F W Distel.

Annual Ball by Railway Brotherhood Planned for December 30
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers will hold its 36th New Year’s ball December 30 at the Lloyd Opera House. An eight piece orchestra will provide music as the group aims to surpass past efforts. Miss Helen Moore may return soon from Omaha where she attended Boyle’s Business College. A. B. Hoagland served as police judge during Judge Tracy and Justice Myer’s absence at the Motel Palace Bazaar.

Rural Center Opened with New Two Room Schoolhouse
District 31 in the Rural Center area completed a two room schoolhouse with basement about fourteen miles southeast of North Platte. The $7600 building features 24 by 30 foot rooms, a library, cloak rooms, hot air heating, a stage and dressing/kitchen room, designed by B. M. Reynolds and built by Mc Michael Bros. Officers are Director John Dioner, Moderator William Huans(e), and Treasurer Orville Roberts. A solo supper of 26 cents will be served at tonight’s opening meeting.

North Platte High announces its debaters under Miss Gibson with Mr Carr as assistant for the new season. The team aims for district and state honors with January debates to select the district-contending squad. Returning last year were Frances Edwards George Dent and Emmett Moody.

Labor Speaker Urges Men to Put Money at Work
Philo P. Greene, economist and statistician for organized labor, spoke at Labor Temple to a large crowd of labor men. He urged unifying railroad workers into one union, urged saving surplus earnings in banks to fund loans and jobs, praised the North Platte Chamber of Commerce for breaking from larger bodies, and opposed the open shop. The talk lasted about two hours with surrounding craft meetings pausing to listen.

Serious Auto Accident On West Second Street
Sunday afternoon about 2 80 the Frank B Yearsley car was struck and turned over at Second and Vine. Mrs Yearsley suffered two broken ribs and vertebral ligament damage. Miss Mary Dugan bruised. Mrs Dye injured. Faye Yearsley uninjured. Leon Lions drove into rear wheel, causing Yearsley car to overturn. Lions car undamaged.

Local Miller Honored by Manufacturers Association
L. C. Carroll returned from Lincoln where he attended the Nebrasta Manufacturers' Association annual convention. He was elected to a second term on the board of directors for the coming year amid reports of a positive business trend. He then visited Omaha to handle business matters and viewed Dixons windows.

City Kindergartens Expand Admission for Five Year Olds
