The American Legion unit in Lincoln County elected officers Rev. K R Mackintosh as president Leonard Robinson as first vice president and R L Cochran as second vice president F J Sandal as secretary and Jn Clinton as treasurer A publicity committee was named along with a meeting place committee and a constitution drafting panel Regular meetings are set for the second Friday of each month An appeal was made to recruit all World War I veterans including Red Cross nurses The next meeting is Friday December 12 with a broom sale planned for December 13 at 1 pm offering 25 brooms at 65 cents each with a two broom limit per customer Also noted are the appointment of W R Maloney as chairman of the state embalmers board and holiday shopping reminders from stores including Dixon the jeweler

Boy Shot by Playmate Ends in Death
Herbert Hardin, son of Mr and Mrs Geo Hardin of 311 West Seventh Street, was shot in the stomach by a playmate in a neighbor’s house while handling a reportedly unloaded gun. The boy died about four hours later as his funeral arrangements were set.
