More Graders Needed to Improve County Roads
The county grader in charge of A HB Hoagland has been moved to the road east from the experimental farm toward the Mylander turn. Commissioners plan to buy one or two more tractors to equip each district with a tractor and grader as current demand exceeds a single machine. Moving tractors between sections adds expense, but the universal demand for good roads drives effort to improve heavily used county routes.

Draft Mobilization Near North Platts for Local Quota
County Clerk Allen notes that meal tickets and transport for the local draft quota will arrive soon. Draftees are expected to mobilize in North Platts between now and September 6 and move to Des Moines or another concentration camp. Sammy's Girls Club Organizes Knit for Soldiers
About thirty young ladies were invited to the home of Mrs. J. W. Mc Graw last evening as the ten my girls club organized to knit for soldiers. They will hold a raffle of homemade cindy Saturday night at a place to be announced later. Tickets cost 10 cents each or 25 cents per turse. Proceeds fund yarn. The group meets twice weekly and aims to finish sweaters helmets mufflers and more for the soldier boys.
