Bullard Seriously Injured In Missouri Fracture
F. E. Bullard, now living in Missouri, writes of a compound fracture of his right thigh suffered August 11. His son Lieut. Arthur Bullard has sailed for overseas duty and another son Lieut. Milledge Bullard will soon cross. The Red Cross plans to arrange meals for national army menus at 75 cents per plate.

The J. W. Payne ranch of 540 acres southeast of town sold to Albert Stenger for 43120, a mile in excess of 75 dollars per acre. The land, mainly first class hay farm ground with 40 acres of trees, lies in the bottom. Stenger will take possession next March. the Wilcox family will move to town. Sale conducted by C. K. Reception for Camp Funston train group draws large crowd
A send off for twenty two boys boarding train No. 4 to Camp Funston drew a large crowd. The band drum corps Home Guarda and Leininger quartette performed while W. W. Hoagland gave a patriotic address. Sammy Girls presented sweatery and comfort kits as hundreds gathered at the depot and courthouse square.
