Navy Recruiting Party Visits North Platte
A sixty man U S Navy recruiting party plus a thirty piece band and a ball team toured North Platte yesterday. The band played at Sixth and Dewey, the visitors beat the local baseball team eighteen to three at the city park, and an airplane built by Great Lakes students was assembled west of the depot. Evening events included a concert at court house park, illustrated navy life scenes, a street dance, and a Red Cross canteen ride for the sailors. The Lutheran Girls Club missionary department will meet Friday August twenty ninth at Mrs Kochs home for a South America lesson.
