Musician Jules Doucet Dies of Heart Trouble at 54
Prof Jules Doucet died at his home from heart trouble after a short illness. He moved from Denver in 1915 and opened a music studio while also playing in the Keith Theatre orchestra. A skilled violinist he studied with renowned teachers and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Woodmen of the World and the Musicians Union. He is survived by his wife and son Trevlyn.

B T Cullen long time manager of North Platte Mercantile Co moves to Casper Wyoming with his family this Thursday. Jack Henry promoted from assistant manager to replace him. Cullen’s tenure saw 300 percent business growth and he departs with reluctance. Rotary Club picnic planned in a grove near Bignell next Monday evening with Kiwanians and ladies invited and supper by Bignell Community Club. Asphalt plant boiler flues replaced and machine resumed operation for cold weather. Rotary luncheon featured brief talks by Rev Patterson J Vanderhoof and Keith Neville and a 30 minute address by Rev H P B Hesa on subsidies.

North Platte fell 4 to 0 to Omaha at the fairgrounds on Sunday. Lin of Kimball started and allowed four runs. Toddenhoff relieved for five innings with ten strikeouts. Committee to Host Yeoman Home Site Visit in North Platte
A Chamber of Commerce appointed committee will escort the Yeoman Home for Children selection team to North Platte on September 19 for a two day visit. Plans include a banquet by the Yeoman lodge, a Chamber luncheon and meeting, and site tours of five to six potential locations with 1000 to 2000 acres eyed.
