About eighty Camp Fire girls spend a week in a river bottom camp near the North Platte River. The sprawling bungalow serves as headquarters while tents house the campers. Daily routines include flag raising, meals, swimming, classes, and evening programs with guest speakers and songs.
David Brooks plans a comment block on the Baptist Church lot off Locust Street and will relocate the battery station by Sept. 1. The General Tire Co. will occupy the east side room. Trainmaster W. C. Shelver reports solid business with about 1,600 freight cars daily through the terminal, higher than years past but below the past three years' peak.
Makes or repairs anything made of tin or sheet metal under General Hospital at 610 Locust. Local workshop offers general metal services and repairs for household and institutional needs.
Tonight at seven at the Court House sixty five viewers of the Chrutangia guarantee are asked to attend with plats and arrangements to be made. War Mothers hold a meeting August 12 at Mrs Chas Bogue’s home. Juniors P A meets Friday August 12. members to attend with a light lunch served.
State law prohibits anyone under sixteen or an intoxicated person from driving a motor vehicle. Owners, dealers, or manufacturers permitting underage or intoxicated operation face misdemeanor charges with fines up to fifty dollars for the first offense and up to one hundred dollars or up to sixty days in jail for subsequent offenses. D. M. Leypoldt traveled to Gering on Wednesday for business.
Officials of Union Pacific push a campaign to drive bums from the system. Gates closed at Omaha Denver Cheyenne as trains are searched for money and fines imposed. In nine days over twenty thousand men passed a Nebraska station many black or Mexican or youths. Some seek work but most refuse.
The Legioners will meet the Maywood ball club Sunday at the Fair grounds at three o'clock. The locals have a defeat to put over and a big game is looked forward to. Rev.
