Declamatory contest at Lloyds Opera House earns praise
The annual high school declamatory contest at Lloyds Opera House Friday evening drew strong praise as contestants performed diverse selections. Judges included Supt Morey and G A McDill with Miss Heywood. Mary Sullivan won first prize for a dramatic piece, Bessie Finney second for an oration, and Jwo McNicol third for an oration. Sullivan and Finney earned cash and ring prizes, and winners advance to the district contest.
