Woman Fires at Dakota County Clerk in Desperate Demand
Mrs Stella Wurtzenburger entered Dakota City Nebraska County Clerk George C Bille offices and demanded money she claimed owed. After a refusal she fired a gun grazing Bille. County Attorney J J McAllister subdued her. She was bound over to the grand jury on $2000 bond and jailed. Authorities had previously moved to remove her from the area.

Life prisoner Taylor Cook dies by own hand in Lansing prison
Leavenworth reports Taylor Cook an Osborne county life prisoner killed himself in his cell at the Lansing penitentiary yesterday. He used a bed wire and a sheet tied to a ceiling hook and kicked away a supporting stool. Since 1899 he begged governors to sign his death warrant, but none did. he once spent time in an insane asylum.
