Jasper County supervisors meet in session in 1899 minutes

The Board of Supervisors of Jasper County Newton Iowa meets through November 15 16 and 18 1899 with regular sessions. They approve minutes receive bids for coal for the court house jail and poor house assign officers for the insane transfer and rebate taxes on the electric plant and Mrs Pillow. They divide bridge work with Story County and approve delinquent tax collection. They rebated charity taxes on Mrs Peck and award a steel bridge contract to N M Stark Co. for Cherry Creek. They plan adjournments and remind readers of the Next issue. Public notices include special subscription offers and large public sales by Ahas Vanatta and sales at Fairfield Montezuma with cattle auctions near Newton.
