First Measured One Hundred Miles by Newton Cyclists
W. J. Snooks and Harry Pearse set a new Newton bicycle record by riding 102 miles in a 12 hour 45 minute trip. They started 5:15 am from Newton, rode via Colfax Mitchellville Altoona Des Moines Valley Junction to Otley and back, finishing at 6:05 pm. Cyclometer read 102 miles. riding time totaled 9 hours 4 minutes.

Union Bible Meeting Brings City Churches Together
Last Sunday evening the city churches gathered at the Congregational meeting of the Jasper Society. Rev. 5. h. Wilson presided as president with several pastors present. Reports from officers showed the society flourishing and strong. A subject “A Word to Young and Young Women from a Bible point” was addressed followed by short talks by Miss and discussion on “Wondrous Things in Thy Law.” Officers elected for the year include President John Wilson, Vice President D.
