Crop Bulletin Notes Cold Wet Week Delays Planting
The past week was unseasonably cold and wet with heavy cloudiness and above normal rainfall. Planting corn progressed slowly, except in favored dry or tile drained areas, with replanting likely due to germination failures. Grass and spring crops benefit from the moisture, while some districts expect completion after June 1st. Sunday School work in Jasper County reported new organization at Rock Creek Center with Alfred Burroughs as Superintendent.
