Alto Wedding Unites Della Harris and Earl French

About seventy guests gathered at the Huddleston home seven miles south of Newton for the marriage of Miss Della Harris and Earl French. Rev. Drake officiated as Mrs Guessford played the wedding march. The couple received guests and a lavish dinner followed. A reception at the French home the next day continued the celebration. Bart and Della begin married life under strong prospects and happiness.

Last evening the Class of 1900 received the Class of 1809 at Miss Stella McCord’s home. The Superintendent’s reception for the Class of 1899 is set for May 27, with a sermon for graduates on May 28 and commencement at Lister’s Opera House on May 31. Public schools close June 2, and a 1400-student program features Egyptian, Phoenician, Greek, and Roman tableaux with diplomas to be presented by A. M. Harrah. Reunion plans for the 22d 24th and 28th Iowa Regiments are discussed, with calls for coordination. A failed burglary at Shaw’s foundry is described along with local comments. Frank Carrier returns from mining pursuits with hopes for future success. Hugh L. Moffitt’s pension rises to eight dollars monthly. Des Moines city solicitor J. End. City Clerk buys large Gould pump in Chicago

Under council directive City Clerk A C Gates traveled to Chicago last week and purchased a large Gould pump eight inches in size for 91076. It will be installed within 60 days.
