Jasper County Sabbath School Convention at Hixson Grove Chapel
The thirty third annual Jasper county Sabbath School Association convention will be held June 2 and 3 1902 at Hixson Grove Chapel six miles southeast of Newton. Officers President G G Russell Newton Vice President J A Macy Colfax Secretary and Treasurer Bertha Griebeling Newton Home Department Miss H R Andrew Newton Executive Committee Townsend Murphy and others. Program covers Devotional Service Round Table Bible study news from the field and sessions on home department temperance and Sunday school work with addresses by Rev A L Criley Rev R F Lavender and Geo M Wilson among others. Local committees entertainments music and delegations urged. Those traveling by rail to Murphy will be met at the depot.
