Social Events Of The Week At Houghs And Friends
Last Friday evening Mr and Mrs Arthur M Hough entertained many friends at their South Race street home with a six o'clock dinner at two long tables. Guests included numerous local residents and Lutheran church members, a pink and white carnation decor theme, and a continued pattern of cordial hospitality. Earlier and midweek Teas at the Scribners on East Marion street drew Rev Leitzel and others, with similar cheerful gatherings and generous hospitality. A surprise sixtieth birthday for Dr L O Rogers drew a physician and church circle, culminating in a rocking gift. The piece notes social ties and ongoing neighborhood conviviality.
