Camp Lincoln Brings Iowa Guardsmen to Burlington

The Newton Company L of the Iowa National Guard sails for an eight day Camp Lincoln in Burlington under Major Norris. The unit, in heavy marching order, will drill and rest, with rostered men including Captain J E Acamons and Lt Eugene M Errett among many others. Also reported: a Newton society wedding surprise for Warren H Thomas and Daisy Harvey at Daisy’s grandmother’s home. another double wedding at Colfax. death of Mrs Eugene Blackledge after long illness with funeral at Mt Zion church.

Will R Lambert and son return from Colorado trip

Will R Lambert and his son Jay came back last Thursday after a Colorado tour. They enjoyed the sights and may move there if a mine were available, having bought 120 acres near Sterling Logan County. Jay hunted jack rabbits and prairie dogs while Robb’s brother William Robb from Greenfield Indiana visited, reuniting after 45 years. L. A. Gates was in Des Moines on business yesterday.
