The Republican convention in Jasper County named a strong ticket with Dr. W. W. Hawk of Colfax for Representative and Harry Galusha for Treasurer. Charlie Hook of Monroe, Libbie Dean of Newton, W. F. Byers, Dr. H. C. Gill, and C. T. Shill were also nominated or renominated for county offices with acclamation. The committee elected E. E. Dobson chairman to lead a vigorous campaign for a decisive victory.

Des Moines Jail Holds Ex-Polk County Teacher in Grave Crime

A former Polk county teacher and ex candidate for county superintendent is jailed in Des Moines after a Meek was arrested in Oklahoma City and returned Friday night. The grand jury charged him with a reported incident involving several child pupils including Garrie Graham Beulah Henderson Bessie Rugg Arvilla Finch Daisy Cummins Nellie Graham. The woman who learned of the acts warned of fatal harm if secrecy was kept. The case centers on repeated inappropriate conduct over three years.
