Princess Anne Md September 29 counsel for Rives Skinker Matthews newspaper editor and publisher sought a change of venue after local coverage in the Somerset News accused State Comptroller J Millard Tawes of misusing gas rationing coupons. The libel charge cited pamphlets in a state case alleging defamation and vilification of the Comptroller. Matthews was arrested on the libel count. the state’s attorney said the charge would continue.
