VFW auxiliary meeting reports and plans set
The Ladies Auxiliary of John R Webb Post 3285 met September 13 at the Potter home in Frederick. Mary ee presided as minutes and treasurer reports were read. Rehab chair Drusilla Tucker reported July birthday recalls for Montevue and Homewood residents with August counts. A Poppy Queen contest is planned for January 15 at Counties Four Post 10076 in Mount Airy. Activities included cancer aid pins, a visit to Martinsburg VA Medical Center August 23, bingo, refreshments, and orientation training attended by four volunteers August 31. Further plans cover the September visit, National Home seals, Campbells soup labels, and the Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s. The next meeting is 7:30 pm Monday Oct 11.

The Bradley-Tabery reunion took place at Pricecliff Park in Frederik hosted by Ralph C Bradley. Blessing led by Hilda Dove followed by a cake for adults and children. Prizes were awarded including a Peanut Queen Mex Tammartello and Mabel Lohers honored as oldest woman while Bud Ober was the oldest man. Various attendees and prize drawings noted. a paper on Fobers Talk about Walliam Hen Tobery and his children distributed.

Gibbons Family Reunion At Middletown Park
Descendants of Jacob and Estela Gibbons held a reunion on September 12 at Middletown Park. Louise Wilt presided, a blessing preceded a buffet, an auction and door prizes, and a cakewalk plus games and softball followed. Attendees listed include Harold Gubbons, Mike Gibbons, Debby Cabbons, Betty Gibbons, and many others. A family cookbook and calendar project were announced, with collecting of recipes and birth dates.
