Murder of Mrs Myers in Frederick Remains Unsolved Since 1960s
A Fort Frederick area murder from early morning hours details an attack on Mrs. Myers near West College Terrace and Fleming Avenue. The assailant, described as a tall thin figure, disappeared into the mist after the crime, which left Dr A A Pearre Sr and others witnesses. Despite added police lines and gradual leads, no arrest or murder weapon was ever found. The case haunts Lt Chase, who recalls his grandmother’s death as a child and remains hopeful for justice.

Maryland tightens spousal privilege in domestic violence law
The 1994 changes limit spousal privilege to testify once within a year, but starting Sunday the limit is removed and a victim may testify only once ever. The law also requires arrest of primary aggressors, bans mutual protection orders, extends reporting window to 48 hours, waives filing fees, logs orders in state systems, and raises penalty for violations to 90 days. A two-year effort by the Legislative Women’s Caucus ends with these protections.
