Man loots parked bases amid home baseball debris incident

Henderson Nevada AP report notes Richard Murphy grew exasperated by baseballs crashing into his home and yard. Police say he stole bases from a nearby park and was arrested. Murphy cites constant ball impacts including pool damage and shattered tiles as motive.

Confederate Air Force B 26 crash kills five near Odessa

A Confederate Air Force Martin Marauder B 26 crashed and burned during a practice flight south of Odessa Texas, killing five crew members. Witnesses heard sputtering before the nose dive. The plane, nicknamed Widow Maker, belonged to CAF which restores World War II aircraft for air shows. Victims include Walter Wootton Vernon Thorp John Cloyd Colin Dunwell and Chris Gardner.

Sunshine Dominates Frederick as Temperatures Near 80

Frederick enjoyed clear skies and sunshine on Thursday with a high near 77 at the Sound Source station. The National Weather Service forecasts largely sunny conditions through Saturday with highs in the 70s and weekend lows in the 50s. A low pressure off North Carolina could bring rain to the Eastern Shore Saturday. Maryland issues code green for good air quality Friday in the Baltimore region while Thursday recorded an ozone index of 61.

Ruapehu Erupts Again After Brief Dormancy

Mount Ruapehu erupted today after a day and a half, sending ash toward the nearby village. Civil Defense warns a major eruption may be imminent with Level Four alert in effect, the largest since 1945. Tourism and travel packages push seismological tourism as ski fields remain closed.

Accessory's bond review delayed in machete murder case
