Frederick County to begin 16 year zoning code update
Frederick County Commissioners voted to undertake a comprehensive update of the county zoning code, the first since 1977, with the 200 page document originally drafted in 1954 and revised only in 1971. The plan, urged after a Frederick County Civic Association meeting, aims to replace piecemeal amendments with a full review. Commissioner Sue Ann Yingling pressed for a broad reexamination, noting the effort will be lengthy and may not be completed before 1994.
