Wildlife rehabilitator cares for 100 animals at Kelbaugh Road home

Diana Conger, one of Frederick County's three licensed wildlife rehabilitators, houses more than 50 species at her Thurmont residence. Her day includes gray and flying squirrels, rabbits, a great horned owl, songbirds, and a baby squirrel, with a focus on releasing patients back to the wild. Her Maryland license restricts raising endangered species and requires minimal formal education.
