Bryson Case Appeal Raises Redistricting Challenge
The state’s attorney and deputy attorney general outlined plans to appeal the ruling. A higher court is expected to decide quickly due to the campaign, as the judge voided a section of a redistricting law aimed at preventing dual GOP nominations in Eastern Shore counties. Bryson contends the measure violates constitutional rights. Simpkins’s office anticipated certifying Wachter as a GOP senatorial candidate, with ballots ready in each county.
