Sensenbaugh Hints at Longer School Days in Maryland
Maryland schools may see a longer year or day, said Dr. James A. Sensenbaugh during a TV interview. He noted the U S has 180 days and suggested a 8 am to 5 pm day, but left scheduling to local systems. He predicted federal aid may require full student choice and cited progress in school integration with 3200 more Negro students in integrated schools and 32 percent of Black pupils in Maryland in integrated settings. Garrett County reportedly has no Black children.
