Billboard anti drug message by Maryland WCTU on US 15
The Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Maryland placed a June lasting billboard north of Point of Rocks along US 15. The frowning clown design warns that clowning around with drugs is no laughing matter and also denounces alcohol and cigarettes. Nancy Zabel, president, notes the design aims to curb illegal drug use and linked behaviors. The group plans to keep the sign until June next year with an option to extend. The WCTU runs 12 unions and many at large members, but does not publish current membership figures.
