Clayton 51 a prominent Cumberland resident killed in an automobile crash last night deemed unavoidable driven onto the road from a driveway without lights. A second car collided with the unlit vehicle causing Clayton’s death along with other damage to nearby trucks and threshers.

Charles T. Brown treasurer of Swarthmore College and head of Franklin Printing Co died by self-inflicted gunshot in his Moorestown home. Family says health issues prompted the act. He was 63 and survived by his widow two sons and a daughter.
