Indictments from the September grand jury led to arraignments before Associate Judge Patrick M Schnauffer in Circuit Court. Trial dates were set for October on numerous cases including assault, larceny, bastardy, false pretense, attempted murder and related offenses with several appeals moved to the stet docket and others opened.

Wallace appeals a 12 month House of Correction sentence for non support by Magistrate Smith. John C. Wills of Emmitsburg appeals a six month House of Correction sentence for unauthorized automobile use by Magistrate Ash. he remains open as he serves a 12 month term on another conviction. Faculty changes at the University of Maryland include Dr. Harold F. Cotterman becoming dean of the faculty. Dr. Fred A Leinbach succeeds him as Assistant Dean. A group of 28 men from Frederick Hagerstown and Martinsburg left for Fort Meade for physicals under a War Department rule offering four years schooling on discharge for three year Army service. Ten Frederick, 141 Hagerstown, four Martinsburg men in the party. Frederick office becomes branch of Hagerstown and moves to Winchester Hall. Captain McClure reassigned to Hagerstown.
