The Pennsylvania State Medical Society opened its annual session with a committee report on school textbooks addressing the W C T U controversy over alcohol and tobacco in physiology and hygiene texts. The panel condemned W C T U supervised works as often misleading and urged honest, truthful treatment of physiology with education on substances rather than enforcement. The committee suggested state supervision of related textbooks and adopted many W C T U suggestions.

Cardinal Gibbons Returns From New York Visit
Cardinal Gibbons arrived on the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse to greet him in New York after a bay arrival ceremony. Jett Sentenced to Death for Killing Kentucky Town Marshal
