Fall Flower Show Opens with Poetry Motif at Region Five
The Federated Garden Club of Maryland Region Five schedules a Fall Flower Show for October 1 at the Francis Scott Key Hotel. Thirteen clubs anticipate overflow from the Wedgwood room to the hotel lobby as exhibits begin at 2 PM after a luncheon by reservation due September 28. entries 9 to 11 AM, sections include Artistic Arrangements with home grown specimens and six classes, and Specimens with chrysanthemums roses zinnias and more.

32 Hospitalized By Chlorine Gas
PESHTIGO Wis Sept 2 Twenty nine school children and three men were hospitalized today as they inhaled chlorine gas escaping from a ruptured hose line in a transfer operation at the Badger paper mills. The youngsters aged 6 to 14 were taken to Marinette General Hospital. Three children were coughing badly while others were in satisfactory condition. A physician warned chlorine can be deadly depending on its strength.

Gold Bullion Stolen in London Robbery
Fast working thieves crashed a truck into a loading area at the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines depot and fled with two boxes of gold bullion weighing about 200 pounds worth $117,690. The bullion originated at the royal mint and was en route to Amsterdam. A worker at the depot was not harmed, while other details remain under investigation.
