Emmy Show Dragged On As Fox Strives For Crisp Lameness
Fox aired the Emmy awards for four hours after outbidding rivals, trimming production fluff but failing to deliver spontaneity. Don Ohlmeyer urged prewritten speeches, while few comedians delivered, and mishaps like a crowd shot unrelated to the winner occurred. Alan Thicke and Sharon Gless stood out with memorable moments.
