Survivor of 22 on British steamer rescued after seven hours at sea
Domingo Ballo Reyarberay, a Spaniard and sole survivor from the sinking Mexicano off the North Carolina coast, floated seven hours on wreckage before the British steamship Rokeby rescued him. Six crewmen were saved by the steamer Vidor and landed in New York. The Mexicano sank in a hurricane after a massive wave flooded the fire room.

Six Mexicano crew rescued from wrecked steamer Vidar
